This paste is new and not ADA approved because it is not fluoridated. It was developed by a chemist who struggled with significant tartar buildup and subsequent periodontal disease despite excellent home and dental care. It works via disrupting the polypeptide bonds that hold the tartar to itself and to the tooth, making it easier for the tartar to be disrupted and removed. It’s a great option to discuss with your dentist if you’re struggling with tartar control despite good habits! It’s labeled for use for adults and children ages 2 and up. The flavor is very mild (to me it is actually not very minty but reminds me of pepto bismol if anything, but most closely reminds me of the unflavored toothpaste Oranurse).
